Medallia Culture

Our 2023 Global Impact Report outlines Medallia’s commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) sustainability. Here are the highlights.

One of the first things I noticed when I joined Medallia is the passion, openness, and inclusivity of our people. I’ve seen firsthand that by combining their expertise with our leading technology, we can make a real difference. Not only are we helping make customer and employee experiences across industries more personal and meaningful, but we are also driving positive change in our communities and the world we live in.

I am excited to share with you the incredible progress we’ve made through our 2023 Global Impact Report. Medallia understands that being committed to ESG is not a choice — it is a responsibility. It’s about creating sustainable, responsible, and purpose-driven practices that benefit our people, our stakeholders, our environment, and our planet.

Key Takeaways of Medallia’s 2023 Global Impact Report

1. Prioritizing Employee Wellbeing

At Medallia, we prioritize the wellbeing of our employees by fostering a culture of listening and meaningfully measuring employee experience. Building on our established continuous listening program, in 2023 we also introduced our “Ask Joe Anytime” survey, which I make a point to answer every week. This real-time feedback system ensures our employees have a voice and trust us with their concerns.

2. Making a Difference Through Giving Back

We have donated over $1.1 million in product value, volunteer hours, and funding to support nonprofits globally. We believe in the power of giving back to help create equitable experiences, and these contributions have allowed us to positively impact various causes and communities.

3. Supporting Our Communities Through ERGs

Our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are instrumental in empowering our communities, and are provided the time, budget, and executive sponsorship they need to be successful. ERGs drive initiatives that include education, philanthropy, talent partnerships, mentoring, events, and community-building. We are committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace, and our ERGs play a significant role in achieving this.

4. Committed to Equal Pay

We are proud to have achieved our Fair Pay Workplace Certification. This certification reflects our commitment to creating a workplace that values equity and fairness. As demonstrated in our UK Gender Pay Gap Report, we have successfully decreased the hourly pay gap and increased female representation within our organization.

5. Expanding Access to Care

We have increased access to reproductive and family-building care, mental health support, and more for our employees. We want to ensure that our employees have the resources they need to thrive in every aspect of their lives.

6. Engaging with Diverse Suppliers

We actively engage with diverse suppliers, exceeding our goal of 15% addressable spend. Supporting minority-owned, women-owned, disadvantaged/disabled, Veteran-owned, and LGBTQA small businesses is integral to our commitment to diversity and inclusion.

7. Measuring Our Carbon Footprint

In 2023, we took a significant step toward sustainability by partnering with Watershed to measure our carbon footprint for the first time. This initiative aligns with our goal of creating a more sustainable future. We plan to annually measure our footprint, track progress, and identify opportunities for meaningful reduction.

Continuing our ESG Commitment

I am proud to serve as the CEO of Medallia, and I look forward to shaping a more positive and sustainable future alongside our inspiring employees. Together, we are not only enhancing customer and employee experiences, but also making a meaningful difference in our communities and the world.

Thank you for being a part of this journey.
